What is IV Chelation?
IV Chelation is Intra Venous infusion of certain advanced medicines, generally used for removal of excess heavy metals from the patient’s body.
How can IV Chelation help heart patients?
In heart patients with symptoms, the underlying disease is hardening of the arteries die to deposition of Calcium which is an age-related degenerative process. It can progress slow or fast in different patients but it affects every single human being from a very young age. IV Chelation with an Amino Acid called EDTA results in removal of calcium deposition in the walls of the arteries.
How many infusions are given in IV Chelation for heart patients?
Depending on the indication and the severity of the disease, patients are advised 20-30 infusions given as 2 or 3 infusions a week over 2-4 months. Each infusion is given in customized dose worked out for every individual patient based on blood tests, and it takes 2-4 hours per infusion.
Is IV Chelation safe?
In the earlier use, there were incidents of kidney damage in certain patients. But from the last 15 years, IV Chelation is done with an individualized dose of the medicine and superior forms of the medicine have also become available.
